Name: Saitama Institute of Technology Booth: 1920 Web: http://www.luna.sit.ac.jp/ Company Description: Saitama Institute of Technology has paid intensive efforts on the application of multimedia technology to education. The three-dimensional computer graphics (CG) and three-dimensional scientific visualization have been mainly studied in these fields by using the visualization tools such as AVS and the immersive virtual reality environment (IVE) such as CAVE. In the education for the students AVS visualization software and three-dimensional CG tools have been used in the exercises and project studies. Cooperative exercises and projects have been carried out in the projects for the education of the senior and junior high schools also. Application using KINECT environment in the fields of education and entertainment will be shown by using the actual Facilities. Novel motion capture/visualization system using wearable motion sensors and Kinect will be demonstrated by Institute of Systems, Information Technologies and Nanotechnologies (ISIT) in the booth. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Saitama University Booth: 1918 Web: http://www.saitama-u.ac.jp Company Description: The booth has the cooperation with SIT (#1920) and VR Study Meeting (#547) in the scope of scientific visualization and 3D multimedia contents development. The 3D tools sucha as AVS, FusionVR and OpenGL programs in the immersive virtual reality environment (IVE) will be shown in the booth. Name: VR Study Meeting Booth: 547 Web: http://www.idolab.sakura.ne.jp/IDOLAB/caveken/cave-meetings_e.html Company Description: VR Study Meeting has been held since Feb. 2002 to discuss on the VR (Virtual Technology and its application in research and education. The major facilities are the immersive VR environment (IVE) such CAVE or Holostage. The 3D visualization facilities and software such as AVS-MPE or VR4MAX have been also studied. The original development of OpenGL programs with CAVELib is included in its scope. Five meetings in average have been held every year. The results in the study meeting are shown in the booth. The booth will be cooperated with SIT (#1920) and Saitama U.(#1918), keeping the cooperation with other institutes. The motion capture system which was developed at ISIT will be shown in the booth SIT (#1920). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
