Plasma Simulation in Ido Lab.
Supercomputing in the studies
Supercomputing is applied to the large scale computer simulations
on the following studies.
-
* Plasma engineering of ion beams
-
* Plasma engineering of ion sources
-
* Plasma engineering of industrial applications
-
* Nuclear fusion
- * Particle deposition
- * Electromagnetic analysis.
The numerical methods are
(1) particle orbit tracing in the electromagnetic fields
(2) Monte Carlo method for collosions
(3) Finite Element Method to obtain the potentials.
Both usual vector processors and parallel processors are used in the present
supercomputing. Parallel computing is suitable and useful in Monte Carlo
simulations.
Visualization is also very useful to analyze the two or three
dimensional features of particle motions.
